The legendary singer made it happen during a special appearance on the HSN this past Friday, and sold 20, 000 “Tuskegee” albums in one hour.
The album has a little something for everyone, including featured songs with artists like Shania Twain and Willie Nelson. But Richie hasn’t denied his R&B roots and gone completely country.
With this album, named after his hometown in Alabama, Richie says he’s just mixing it up a little bit.
“To do this album was very eye-opening,” the five-time 62-year-old Grammy winner told Rolling Stone. “I didn’t realize that all of country knew all of my songs anyway.”
